Wheel workflow

How to use the Find Deals screener

Find Deals is tab 1 of the Wheel. It scans the market for wheel opportunities using 4 filter groups - options, technical, company, and earnings. Learn the layout, the Simple/Advanced toggle, and how to read the results table.

How to read the opportunity Rating

The Rating column scores every screened opportunity against your filter set. Higher is better. Learn how to use it alongside Yield and Delta to pick candidates, and when to trust it vs. override it.

How to roll a position

The Roll tab surfaces open positions that may need rolling, then finds replacement contracts that extend the position at a favorable net premium. Learn how to read the Positions to Roll list and pick a rolling candidate.

How to review your wheel results

The Results tab is where your wheel performance lives - Premium YTD, Realized P&L, Win Rate, Profit Factor, and the Daily P&L chart. Learn which metrics reveal a healthy wheel and which need attention.

How to sell covered calls on your stock positions

The Covered Calls tab finds uncovered stock positions and surfaces call options to sell against them. Learn how to read Break Even, % to BE, and ROI @ BE to pick strikes that make sense for your cost basis.

How to run your first screen

How to save and reuse filter combinations

Save filter combinations you trust, load them in one click, and share them with the community. The Your Searches and Popular sections of Find Deals make reusable filter sets your starting point for every screen.

Journal

How to read your Options Journal

The Options Journal has 5 tabs - Profit View, Calendar, Transactions, Per-Ticker, and Trades - plus the Open Chains section on Open Positions. Learn which tab answers which question so you spend less time hunting for information.

How to view your open positions

Open Positions shows every stock and option contract in your connected accounts, with Unrealized Break-Even (UBE), Break Even, P&L, and Real P&L per row. Learn the column meanings and how to filter the view by account.

Understanding Real Cost and adjusted cost basis

Real Cost is your effective cost basis after every premium you've collected on a ticker. It's what tells you whether your wheel is actually working. Learn how it's calculated, why it matters more than entry price, and how to use it for decisions.

How to read the Profit View charts

Profit View has 6 charts - Cumulative P&L, Net P&L, Account Balance, ROI, Cash Balance, Drawdown. Learn what each one tells you and which time range to use for which decision.

How to use the Calendar P&L view

Calendar view shows your daily P&L as a monthly grid, with weekly totals. Toggles separate roll P&L from new premiums so you can see pure income vs. position management. Useful for spotting monthly patterns.

How to review your transactions

The Transactions tab is your itemized audit trail - every closed position with ticker, strike, expiration, type, contracts, close date, dollar amount, and ROI. Use it for reconciliation, tax prep, or drilling into a specific week's activity.

How to view per-ticker performance

The Per-Ticker tab groups your full trading history by underlying stock, showing options P&L, stock P&L, total return, ROI, current price, share count, and Real Cost - the adjusted cost basis after premium income.

How to track open chains and multi-leg positions

Open Chains groups positions that have multi-leg structures or active rolling history. Each chain shows full running P&L — realized plus unrealized plus locked-in. Use it to see the state of in-progress wheel cycles at a glance.

How to review the raw trade feed

The Trades tab shows every individual buy, sell, and expiration from your connected brokers with full filtering and a manual +Add Trade option. Use it for reconciliation, missing-trade debugging, and capturing trades from unsupported brokers.

GEX

Understanding GEX and what it tells you

Gamma Exposure (GEX) measures how option dealer hedging affects price action. Learn what gamma exposure is, why it matters for short-term price behavior, and how QuantWheel's GEX suite visualizes it.

Understanding call walls, put walls, and gamma flip

Call walls, put walls, and the gamma flip are the three price levels GEX surfaces. Learn what each one represents about dealer hedging, how to read them together, and when to trust them vs. ignore them.

How to use GEX AI for a ticker

GEX AI combines the full GEX snapshot for a ticker with AI-generated commentary. Enter a ticker, pick expirations, and get Price, Gamma, Total GEX, Call Wall, Put Wall, the GEX-by-strike chart, and an AI narrative on what the positioning suggests.

How to read the GEX Heatmap

The GEX Heatmap shows gamma exposure across strikes and expirations as a 2D color-intensity map. Use it to spot dealer-positioning clusters across the term structure, with key levels overlaid on a candlestick chart below.

How to replay historical GEX

GEX Replay scrubs through historical intraday sessions minute-by-minute, showing GEX metrics alongside price action. Use it to learn pattern recognition, study past flips and wall breaks, and back-test GEX-based setups against real sessions.

How to track gamma flip events and set alerts

A gamma flip is when a ticker's price crosses the Gamma Flip level, changing the dealer-hedging regime. The Gamma Flip tab logs historical flip events and lets you set alerts for new ones. Combines Events and Alerts into one view.

How to read Vanna and Charm exposures

Vanna and Charm are second-order Greeks visible in GEX AI. Vanna shows dealer hedging from implied-volatility changes; Charm shows dealer hedging from time decay. Useful during IV crushes, around expiration, and in volatility-spike events.

How to build a custom GEX Workspace

The GEX Workspace lets you pin widgets from any GEX tool into a single customized dashboard. Up to 20 widgets, with auto-refresh intervals from 30 seconds to 5 minutes. Ideal for active traders monitoring multiple tickers and views simultaneously.

Troubleshooting

Why is my data delayed?

Data delays in QuantWheel usually come from one of three sources - broker-specific sync windows, the Sandbox's built-in delays, or a sync that hasn't refreshed. Here's how to tell which applies to you and what

Broker sync failed or stopped working

When broker sync stops working, the cause is usually an expired OAuth token, an invalid Flex Query token (IBKR), a broker-side outage, or an exhausted sync count. Walk through the diagnostic steps to find yours.

Missing transactions or incorrect P&L

Missing transactions or wrong P&L numbers usually trace to one of four causes - sync hasn't completed, a stock split wasn't handled, a roll was categorized as two separate trades, or an assignment was missed by broker data.

Assignment not detected in my journal

When a CSP or short call gets assigned at expiration but QuantWheel doesn't show the resulting stock position, the cause is usually a broker-side reporting gap. Here's how to detect it and force a reconciliation.

Discord alerts not arriving

When Discord alerts stop arriving, the cause is usually a 2-step setup gap (QuantWheel authorized but bot not added to the server), a permissions issue in Discord, or a server-side Discord problem. Here's how to check each.

Sync count exhausted

Each plan has a daily sync allowance. Hitting the limit shows a "N syncs remaining today" indicator and pauses new syncs until the counter resets. Here's how to check your allowance and raise it.

Broker authentication errors

Authentication errors during broker connection usually mean an expired token, a 2FA failure, a password change, or a security event on the broker's side. Here's how to identify which and re-authenticate cleanly.
