How to navigate QuantWheel after your first login

Everything on the QuantWheel dashboard, sidebar, and top bar — what each section does and where to find it after your first login.

Last updated

After login, QuantWheel opens to the Action Center — the main dashboard. Three surfaces handle every feature: the left sidebar (where you work), the top bar (where you manage broker access and help), and the gear icon (where you configure everything).

Before you start

Required:

  • A QuantWheel account, a trial, or the Sandbox. The layout is identical across all three.

Time to complete: 6 minutes

Steps

  1. Log in. The Action Center loads by default. It shows the ROI banner at the top, a Portfolio Value card, a YTD Income card, an Opportunities card, the Open Wheels panel, the Active Suggestions panel, and a configurable widgets section.

  1. Open the left sidebar. It lists 7 top-level sections:
  • Action Center — the dashboard you're on now.
  • Wheel — shortcuts to Find Deals, Roll, and Covered Calls. Open Wheel to use the full 4-tab workflow, including Results.
  • Open Positions — every open stock and option across your connected brokers, plus the Open Chains section for multi-leg strategies.
  • Journal — the Options Journal, with 5 tabs: Profit View, Calendar, Transactions, Per-Ticker, Trades.
  • GEX — the gamma exposure suite: GEX AI, Heatmap, Max Pain, GEX Replay, Gamma Flip, Options Flows, and Workspace.
  • Copy Others — Copy Trading. Follow featured traders or become a Virtual Hedge Fund yourself.
  • Chat — opens QW Intelligence, the AI assistant for portfolio questions and opportunity lookups.

  1. Look at the top bar. From left to right on desktop: your portfolio strip, Manage Brokers (quick link to broker integration), Help, the gear icon (Settings), a light/dark toggle, and your avatar.

  1. Click the gear icon to open Settings. Settings has its own sidebar with 7 sub-pages: Account, Preferences, Billing, Watchlists, Alerts, Broker Integration, and CSV Import. Click Back to Dashboard to return.

  1. Return to the Action Center. Scroll down to the widgets section and the Open Wheels panel. Widgets are configurable. Open Wheels shows the lifecycle of each position: cash-secured put → assignment → covered call → called away.

Common issues

The Action Center looks empty — where are my positions?

If you haven't connected a broker yet, Portfolio Value, YTD Income, and Open Wheels will all be empty or show demo data. Connect a broker to populate them — see How to connect your first broker and see your positions.

Why does the sidebar say "Chat" but the docs say "QW Intelligence"?

Same thing. The sidebar label is Chat; the product name is QW Intelligence. We use "QW Intelligence" in docs because it's more searchable.

Why is the "Manage Brokers" link in the top bar and not the sidebar?

Broker connection is a one-time setup, not a daily action. We kept it in the top bar so the sidebar stays focused on the features you use every session.

What does the ROI badge in the top bar mean?

It shows the dollar amount QuantWheel has helped surface since you subscribed, divided by what you've paid. It updates as the journal ingests new trades. If you're on the Sandbox or haven't connected a broker, it shows demo data.
